Track income and expenses
Transactions
Record income and expenses with the details that give them context. Search, correct and review the transactions behind your numbers.
Manual expense tracking is more useful when you can recognize a transaction later. Its account, category, currency and date give context to the amounts used throughout CAS.
Start with CASHow to use Transactions
Record income or an expense
CAS · TransactionsSample dataThe sample transaction records a USD 48 grocery expense in Bank, with a date and category. Open New transaction and enter the type, amount, date, account and relevant category.
Find it in the table
CAS · TransactionsSample dataThe Groceries search and USD filter help locate the USD 48 expense. Use search and the type or currency filters to review the records you need.
Correct the details
CAS · TransactionsSample dataCorrecting the amount from USD 58 to USD 48 updates the record; it does not send or refund money. Edit a transaction when a detail is wrong. Before deleting it, check whether you need that record to explain an account balance.
Keep the context behind every number
A category describes what income or spending was for; an account identifies where you record it. Keeping them distinct helps you understand expenses without confusing purpose and location.
You can also record currency conversions with source and destination amounts. A conversion record in CAS does not exchange currency or perform a bank transfer.
